What’s this?

A Khmer American third-culture kid (hi, that’s me!) is building a new world that’s a blend of sword-and-sorcery high fantasy and decayed futurist sci-fi with a setting heavily inspired by ancient Southeast Asian mythos, society, culture, religion and politics. Especially Khmer (Cambodian) culture. You being here means you’re interested in exploring the world through blog posts featuring tidbits about the world, as well as real-life inspiration and education about Southeast Asia.

Basically, get ready for a world full of:

• POC characters based on Southeast Asian, and Asian more broadly, characters.

• Sword-and-sorcery high fantasy, brimming with magic and technology, with global horizons based on the exchange in and around Asia (including the French occupation of Cambodia)!

• Magic and mysticism, with sorcerers and witches and fantastical creatures and phenomena inspired by Southeast Asian folklore, myths and beliefs.

• Strange tech ripped from a group of mysterious, ancient spacefaring people inhabiting a world that has not forgotten about them.
